Formula E To add key new cities

Formula E eyeing NY City

Formula E "is expected to add several new cities to its calendar for the third season," according to Norman Fischer of MOTORSPORT TOTAL. Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag said that Montreal, Hong Kong and Tokyo "are almost certain to be part of an expanded schedule."

The second Formula E season will start in Beijing on Oct. 24. Agag: "The season opener will most likely take place in Montreal."

The ePrix "would not take place on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, which hosts the Canadian F1 Grand Prix, but in the city center." Agag: "After that we will go to Asia, where we already had promising talks with Hong Kong."

He added that "no contracts have officially been signed yet." After Asia, the series is expected to move to Australia before it travels to South and North America and finishes the year in Europe. For the 4th season, Agag "is already in talks with representatives of New York and Tokyo." Motorsport Total
