Another conspiracy theory

A reader writes, Dear AutoRacing1.com, After watching the Grand-Am race from Mexico City Saturday night and then reading Felix Sabates comments on NASCAR.com about how important it is for NASCAR Nextel Cup to be in Mexico and that Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim will be an important part of that effort, it became clear to me why Scott Pruett and Luis Diaz were so dominant in the Grand-Am race.

I never saw a Grand-Am car so dominant in a race in a league that prides itself on close finishes. How convenient a Mexican driver was in it and how convenient that Carlos Slim, one of the top 5 or 6 richest men in the world, owns the car's sponsor – Telmex. Did they get one of NASCAR's now famous "The Call?"

Sure seems that way from where I sit. What better way to get Mr. Slim and the Mexican fans hooked on the France family racing business than to have a Mexican car and driver (Diaz) win in front of the home crowd. Mordichai Rosen, LA, California

Dear Mordichai, There you go with your Conspiracy Theories again. We know it looks fishy but the France family would never do such a thing. Give us proof. Mark C.
