07/03/11 The IZOD IndyCar Series figures to expand by one or two races in 2012 and one of those venues is likely to include an old friend that hosted good racing but sparse crowds according to SPEED.com.
SPEED rumors that a deal with Auto Club Speedway, formerly known as California Speedway, is all but a done deal and could be announced as early as Monday.
“We’re in serious dialogue and I’d say it looks promising," said INDYCAR CEO Randy Bernard. California Speedway president Gillian Zucker could not be reached for comment but met with Bernard last week.
