Honda IndyCar concept car is still the best

A reader writes, The Delta Wing car is even uglier than the current Dallara chassis. It looks like a drag racer more than an open-wheel formula racer! Likewise, most of the concepts I have seen from Swift and Dallara aren't much better.

I think the IRL should go with a design like the Honda one you posted a while back with the canard wings in the front. That seems like the perfect progression for the league and would differentiate the racing style from all others but still would be Indy-style to me.

I have become so bored with the lack of technology in IndyCar racing, especially since the demise of Champ Car, and if they don't do something soon, I am going to give up and just watch F1 and Sportscars.

Brian Barnhart is so out of touch and if he chooses the wrong chassis it will be game over for my favorite racing style (CART/Champ Car/IndyCar). The powers that be at the IRL/IMS should have sent Barnhart out the door with Tony George.

Hopefully the right choice is made so that the teams stay, manufacturers return and then ultimately, the fan base will regrow. Matt Fetherman

Another reader writes, Dear Autoracing1.com, Wow….I thought the new Lola/Swift/Dallara concepts were ugly. For the first time I have to agree with Brian Barnhart! The Delta wing makes the current Indy Car Dallara, the Grand Am Prototype and even NASCAR's COT look GREAT!!!!. With all the hype surrounding this Delta project I thought this would be a much better design. This is NOT an Indy Car/Champ Car nor any evolution of the two. Thinking outside of the box is great but a great design should at least stay in the same universe!!! Where is Panoz when you need them!!!!!!! Peter M. Romero, Esq.
