Ganassi to run Dixon in Petit Le Mans

Scott Dixon will be the third driver of #01 Telcel Ford EcoBoost at Petit Le Mans.

INDIANAPOLIS (Sept. 30, 2014) – Seven-time TUDOR United SportsCar Championship (TUSC) Champions and five-time Rolex 24 At Daytona Winners Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced today that three-time Verizon IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon will join Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in the driver lineup of the No. 01 Telcel Ford EcoBoost Prototype (P) for the TUSC season finale – the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta on October 4.

Dixon has competed twice with CGRFS this season in a second Prototype fielded in the TUSC Rolex 24 At Daytona and also at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

About Scott Dixon: Scott Dixon just completed his 13th season with Target Chip Ganassi Racing in the Verizon IndyCar Series with a third-place finish in the series championship point standings. He is a three-time Verizon IndyCar Series Champion (2003, 2008, 2013) and won the Indianapolis 500 in 2008. Dixon was also part of the overall winning team at the 2006 Rolex 24 at Daytona, and his 35 Indy car wins are tied for fifth on the all-time list.

Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas are 35 points out of the championship lead heading into the season finale.

Current Standings: The duo of Pruett and Rojas driving the No. 01 Telcel Ford EcoBoost Riley are currently in fifth place in the overall standings for the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship with three wins on the season. They trail first place by 35 points going into the season finale at Road Atlanta.

Petit Le Mans Successes: While this will be CGRFS’ first sports car appearance at Road Atlanta, Dixon has competed on the track three times with other teams (1999, 2008, 2009). His highest finish came in 2008 when he started in the fifth position and crossed the finish line in the same spot.
