Dalziel out, Bremer in for Edmonton

UPDATE #4 AutoRacing1.com spoke to HVM boss Keith Wiggins on the airplane ride up to Edmonton. Wiggins told AutoRacing1.com, "I still hold the contract with Ronnie. I am releasing him to Dale Coyne for Edmonton and possibly more races, but I still eventually want him back if things work out as I hope. We may have some sponsorship news by the San Jose time frame and I am confident for next year." 07/14/05 Danish Television (TV2) is reporting that Bremer isn't paying anything for the seat– According to them, Dale Coyne hired him. Either way, it's good news for Bremer. 07/14/05 We just spoke to Dale Coyne in Edmonton and he informed AutoRacing1.com that he is meeting with Bremer Thursday afternoon to hopefully iron out a deal for the rest of the year. Apparently Bremer's sponsorship money has come through. Coyne hopes to formally announce the deal later today. 07/14/05 We are hearing that Ronnie Bremer will be in the Dale Coyne seat this weekend, replacing Ryan Dalziel. We will know for sure later today. 07/13/05 Reflecting on his Champ Car debut and Sunday’s ALMS event Ryan Dalziel remarked:

“PCM allowed me to race last Sunday which was really great of them. I first came to race in America with Champ Car as my goal. The opportunity presented itself and I took it believing if I performed well there could be the possibility of running the remainder of the season. Given the circumstances I think I did a good job, I kept the car out off the walls and scored a top ten finish but for whatever reason the team has selected another driver for the Edmonton race which leaves me free to return to the ALMS with PCM.

“I’m obviously disappointed with the team’s decision! Based on my performance I thought I at least deserved another opportunity but I’d like to thank Dale Coyne and American Medical Response for offering me my first Champ Car start. I’m now looking forward to getting back into the Corvette and continuing to help progress PCM’s rookie GT1 campaign. We were pretty competitive last time out at Lime Rock Park which gives us more to work with heading into this weekend. Sonoma’s a great track in a fantastic part of the country, roll on Sunday!"

No word yet on who will be in the Dale Coyne car in Edmonton.
