GEICO, Unser team up for Indy

Al Unser Jr. will have the GEICO gecko on his side as he begins preparations for the 90th Indianapolis 500.

Two-time 500-Mile Race champion Unser will roll onto the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the red, white and blue No. 31 A1 Team USA/GEICO/Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone.

"What better way to highlight the United States' participation in the A1 Grand Prix of Nations and Team USA than with two of the most recognized names in American open-wheel racing – Unser and the Indianapolis 500," said Rick Weidinger, owner of the Team USA franchise in the A1 GP series and a former IndyCar Series team owner. "The opportunity to showcase A1 Team USA at an American event like the Indianapolis 500 with an American driver like Al is unmatched in motorsports.

"We are also honored by having GEICO, a company born in our nation's capital with a long history of serving government employees and the military, as a sponsor and team partner."
