An interesting poll result
UPDATE There have been erroneous AP reports circulating that Roger Penske was voted as the person who should run a merged Champ Car/IRL series, yet if you view the poll online at National Speed Sport News it shows what we reported below, so we don't know where AP got their data. To the right is a screen capture of the poll result from their web page. Is this 'lie' that has spread thru the media the work of some mischievous group out to make sure Kalkhoven does not shine? The conspiracy theorists say the oval track cartel controls the media behind the scenes. Hmmm……..
05/03/06 This poll ran over the past week by National Speed Sport News had the following results:
Who should run IRL and Champ Car after a merger?
Brian France 7.26%
Tony George 6.60%
Kevin Kalkhoven 71.89%
Roger Penske 9.06%
H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler 5.19% NSSN
An interesting result statistic given the fact that NSSN caters heavily to the oval track cartel and does its best to put down road and street racing, and play up oval track racing. The newspaper has a large customer base of short-track oval fans. Seems Champ Car boss Kevin Kalkhoven has earned the respect of even the oval track fans.
