Mi-Jack Conquest team puts in best qualifying effort
The Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Team showed they were amongst the quickest in the morning practice as Charles Zwolsman and Andrew Ranger were respectively sixth and seventh. That speed was confirmed this afternoon, during the final round of qualifying when Andrew Ranger equaled his best qualifying performance of the season by taking the sixth place on tomorrow’s starting grid for the Grand Prix of Denver. Ranger put in lap time of 1:00.007 on his 14th and second to last lap. Charles Zwolsman was on his way to securing his best qualifying result of the season when he was blocked heading into his penultimate lap costing him precious time. The Dutchman had to settle for 12th, a frustrating result for Zwolsman who was ninth on the provisional grid. Tomorrow’s race begins at 3:45 p.m. eastern and will be broadcast live on SPEED starting at 3:30 p.m. eastern.
Andrew Ranger “We had a very good qualifying session. We were 12th with our first set of tires so we worked on the car a bit before going out on the red tires. It paid off because I jumped up to sixth. I was pushing really hard on my last lap and I was up by two tenths but lost time in turn 9 and that cost us a few positions. This result is great for the team, they gave me a really good car and I am excited to be starting on the third row."
Charles Zwolsman “I’m not very happy right now. I had two laps to go and I got blocked by Jan Heylen as I was finishing a lap and starting my final one. Those would have been my two fastest ones. I know I could have been up there with Andrew."
