Mowlem to drive for Doncaster Racing

British racing star Johnny Mowlem will return to the scene of one of his greatest victories when he competes in the 2007 Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. Mowlem, a former GT class champion in the world endurance classic, will drive a Porsche GT3 in the GT class. The car is campaigned by Doncaster Racing, one of the top teams in the Rolex Sports Car Series. Mowlem was GT champion in the 2004 edition of the race.

Mowlem is listed among the top endurance racers in the world by most observers. He completed a rare triple in 2006 when he competed in the world’s three most significant 24-hour races, those at Le Mans, France and Spa, Belgium and of course; Daytona.

“The scope of the Rolex 24 at Daytona is just tremendous," Mowlem said. “The entry list has a galaxy full of stars from all over the racing world, many of whom are good friends, so it's a fantastic way to start the year. Daytona has been very kind to me, I've competed there seven times and been fortunate enough to stand on the podium four times, including twice finishing second overall. Obviously 2004 was the highlight with a second overall and the GT win. I still wear the Rolex everyday, and I would love to win myself another!"
