Dominguez to drive RuSPORT car

RuSPORT is pleased to welcome Mario Dominguez to the team for the first test of the 2007 season at Sebring, Florida, where both Dominguez and the Panoz DP01 will debut with the team. 2007 will be the sixth year behind the wheel of a Champ Car for the Mexico City native and RuSPORT is excited to get a close up look at Mario’s skills.

“I’m pleased that it worked out for me to drive the 10 car for the initial Panoz DP01 test," said Dominguez. “I had spoken with RuSPORT late in 2006 and this chance to work with the team is a great opportunity for me. I am looking forward to getting to know the Panoz and helping the team develop this great new package that has been designed exclusively for Champ Car."

“Mario’s expertise and understanding of Champ Car is a great asset to RuSPORT at a time when we are starting fresh with the DP01," said Dan Pettit, RuSPORT team owner. “I have watched Mario drive for many years now and he is always a good competitor and offers the fans a great show.

Mario Dominguez is one of the most recognizable faces in the Champ Car paddock and has had a busy 2006. He finished ninth in the Vanderbilt Cup championship race, scored two podium finishes and a Bridgestone pole award in Houston.
