SPEED to Air New Zealand A1GP Action
The 3.5km North Island track suited A1 Team Canada's James Hinchcliffe (20) as the Toronto rookie heralded his return to competition, following a two race absence while Vancouver's Sean McIntosh raced for the team, by picking up a pair of top-six finishes on Sunday.
Sixth at the checkered flag in both the Sprint and Feature races, Hinchcliffe's performances netted A1 Team Canada a total of six points to maintain its footing in the top-ten of the A1GP Nations Standings, the team currently placing ninth from the 23 competing nations.
Germany stretched its advantage at the head of the pack to 19 points over France (65-46) at Taupo courtesy of back-to-back wins from teenage rookie Niko Hülkenberg, the German pole-winner scoring his third and fourth A1GP victories and his first weekend sweep.
