Generac to sponsor Road America races

Generac Power Systems Inc. of Waukesha has signed on to be the title sponsor of the American Le Mans Series and the Champ Car World Series events in August at Road America in Elkhart Lake.

Financial terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed.

Road America said that the event, slated for Aug. 9-12 and dubbed the Generac Power Weekend, is the first time in the track's history that both series have run on the same weekend. The event will feature the Generac 500 with the American Le Mans Series and the Generac Champ Car Grand Prix.

Road America expects on-site attendance to exceed 100,000. In 2007, network television will broadcast the races, providing significant world-wide exposure for Generac. On Aug. 11th, NBC will cover the Generac 500, and on Aug. 12th, ABC will cover the Generac Grand Prix. Generac Power Systems has sponsored the Generac 500 event at Road America since 2005. The company is a manufacturer of power generation equipment.
