Friday F1 test times

(GMM) Top F1 squads McLaren, Ferrari and Honda endured difficult winter days on Friday.

After grinding to a halt just three corners into his 'RA107' debut a day earlier, Honda's Jenson Button was again left without power, this at the end of the end of the Barcelona pitlane.

He was trialing a new black and white helmet livery.

At Valencia in Spain, McLaren ordered Fernando Alonso to stay dry as torrential rain pounded the garage roofs.

The silver team will resume work on Tuesday, as will Ferrari, featuring Kimi Raikkonen at work for the first time in the F2007.

North of Rome on Friday, Felipe Massa endured more technical trouble in the new red car at Vallelunga, and he also crashed in the final bend.

Observers noted heavy damage to the front wing and suspension after the 25-year-old Brazilian left a part of the circuit which is particularly close to the tire barrier.

Conditions were reportedly damp and Massa only did nine laps.

The Italian agency ANSA, however, quoted him as saying: "For me we are already a step ahead compared to last year's car, especially in terms of stability."
