Pirelli to be spec tire for Grand-Am

Pirelli Competizione announced its partnership with Grand American to be the official supplier of its P Zero Racing tires to the Grand-Am Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve for the 2008-2010 seasons. Pirellis is celebrating its 100th year in motor racing during 2007 and will continue its racing history with Grand Am for the years to come.

Roger Edmondson stated that a key part in the decision to move forward with Pirelli was its ability to market the series and the sport within at the retail level, which Hoosier, the previous supplier, was not able to do since they only manufacture racing tires and nothing to the public.

Pirelli's Paul Hembery emphasized the importance of the decision to them in the United States. They felt that Grand-Am has grown impressively and is one of the leading players in American racing and look forward to working with the series, teams, and drivers on the technical and promotional level to ensure the continued growth and recognition at the international level.

Hoosier will continue to be the official supplier of tires to the newly named Koni Challenge series of Grand Am racing.
