Nakajima tests, Alonso fastest

The Williams team returned to testing in the week leading up to the launch of the new FW29 this Friday. The day started with wet conditions affecting the drivers ability to complete test schedules. It cleared up later in the day allowing Kazuki Nakajima to commence testing in the interim Toyota powered car. But the Japanese driver would not have the best of days brining out three red flags, two due to mechanical problems and one when he went off track in the afternoon.

AT&T Williams Test Team Manager Mike Condliffe commented: "Kazuki was driving in Valencia today on a damp track with poor grip, particularly in the morning session. We were mainly testing the gearbox and various software throughout the day. Today's running was interrupted by no less than 10 red flags, a function of the number of cars and the slippery surface." Nico will drive the FW28 and Alex will continue his program in the FW27C.
