Ford GT to race at LeMans in ’08

A Ford GT should be on the grid for the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2008. Doran sports car team boss Kevin Doran said the new GT2 contender he is working on for a consortium of wealthy individuals is indeed Ford’s GT40 look-alike. He explained the plan was to give the car its debut in the American Le Mans Series’ Petit Le Mans endurance race this October ahead of an assault on Sebring and Le Mans in 2008. The car will be known as the Ford GTR and will be powered by a normally aspirated version of the street car’s supercharged V8. AutoWeek
