Crocker wins ARCA pole

Evernham Motorsports' Erin Crocker ran a lap of 49.391 seconds, 182.219 mph to capture the pole position for the 44th running of the ARCA 200 at Daytona International Speedway. Crocker will lead the 41-car field to the green flag, that waves at 1:15 p.m. Saturday for the 2007 ARCA RE/MAX Series season opener.

"This race is real important for us," Crocker said. "It’s a new season, I’m turning over a new leaf, and I’m going to have some fun. I’ve got a pink race car, with no sponsor, no pressure. We’re ready to kick some butt tomorrow. Starting up front is important. Any speedway race can get a little wild, so you either want to be near the front or near the back. Obviously, I wanted to be in the front."
