Barcelona action starts, Massa stops

(GMM) Ferrari's run of poor reliability continued on Monday morning, as the penultimate test of the winter kicked off in Spain.

At the newly modified Circuit de Catalunya, dry and sunny Barcelona weather played host to ten of F1's eleven teams.

Brazilian Massa's 'F2007' ground to a smoky halt on his first lap of the day, and a corner marshal was quickly at the rear of the car to give a squirt of fire extinguisher fluid.

The red car was covered by Ferrari technicians and towed back to the pits.

Massa's teammate Kimi Raikkonen was among those in action on Monday morning, as was world champion Fernando Alonso in the MP4-22 McLaren.
