AJ Allmendinger had to race his way into the Daytona 500 in today's first Gatorade 150 qualifying race but he crashed out of the race early. On lap 24 the #7 Ford Robby Gordon came down into the #84 Toyota of Allmendinger in turn 4, sending Gordon into the outside wall and Allmendinger into the grass. Both were done for the day. After a successful year last year in Champ Car where he was in a top ride and winning a lot of races, he's now in a back marker team in NASCAR fighting to even qualify for races. But he's making a lot of money so he can drown his sorrows in cash. Photo by
