Barkhouser Ford-Lincoln-Mercury inks 2-year sponsorship deal

Barkhouser Ford-Lincoln-Mercury will return as a major sponsor at South Boston Speedway for the next two seasons.

For the past two years, the Danville, Va.-based automotive dealership provided the official pace car for America's Hometown Track and served as the sponsor of the Late Model Stock Car Division at the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval. The same can now be said for the next two seasons at America’s Hometown Track.

James Barkhouser, president of the dealership, which is located on Riverside Drive in Danville, announced this week that Barkhouser Ford-Lincoln-Mercury would, once again, provide the official pace car for South Boston Speedway for the next two years. In addition, Barkhouser will also, once again, be the sponsor of the NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model Stock Car Division for the next two years. That division will be billed throughout the season as the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division. Barkhouser Ford-Lincoln-Mercury will also display a variety of vehicles at the speedway over the course of the season.

"We are excited to continue our affiliation with South Boston Speedway," James Barkhouser said. "The benefits that our dealership has derived from our past relationship with South Boston Speedway makes us feel it is a win-win situation for us and the speedway.

“Signing a two-year deal for sponsorship is something we were very comfortable with," Barkhouser added. “Advertising at South Boston Speedway is something that we have found to be very cost effective.

"You can't beat the action at that race track," Barkhouser continued. "It truly offers some of the best racing action around."

South Boston Speedway General Manager Cathy Rice said she and her entire staff were ecstatic to have the continued commitment from Barkhouser Ford-Lincoln-Mercury.

"We are truly very excited to have Barkhouser Ford-Lincoln-Mercury back on board here at South Boston Speedway," Rice said. "We've had a wonderful relationship in the past with them and we look forward to continuing that relationship for a very long time." More at South Boston
