Rain shortens COT test

NASCAR officials concluded the test of the Nextel Cup "car of tomorrow" at Bristol Motor Speedway shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday because of rain at the facility. Cup teams testing at the facility were given an extra three hours on the track Wednesday night after forecasters warned of the high probability of rain today.

Clint Bowyer crashed his Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet late in the Thursday night session, but that was the only incident with the wall in the shortened test.
