Team Cytosport joins ALMS with ex-Dyson Lola

Just a few days after the announcement that Dyson Racing would change from the LMP1 Lola B06/10 AER to the LMP2 Porsche RS Spyder there were talks about the Lola being entered in the American Le Mans Series by another team. Intersport Racing was the main candidate for the car, but when they decided to go for the Creation CA06/H news regarding the ex-Dyson cars faded…until today! It was announced today that the Lola B06/10 will be entered in the American Le Mans Series by Team Cytosport. The team, lead by US racing veteran Greg Pickett, will not take part in the first two rounds of the season. Several test sessions will take place in California and Arizona before joining the series at Long Beach. Pickett will be driving the car himself, together with experienced German driver Klaus Graf and the team will most likely do eight out of twelve races.

Greg Pickett, who started racing in 1975, was successful in, the now defunct, TransAm-Series. During a period of almost four decades Pickett won numerous races. He is also the founder and CEO of Cytosport, a company in dietary supplements.

Klaus Graf is also a known face in the US-racing. He drove several NASCAR races before clinching the 2005 TransAm Series title. Before this, he drove sports cars as well, in 1998 he drove a Lanzante Motorsport Ferrari 333 SP in the FIA Sportscar Championship before joining Panoz as a works-pilot from 1999 up until 2001.

“I am very pleased that I could make this deal with Greg," admits Graf. “The Lola is a fast and thoroughbred car in which we can get good results in the overall standings of the ALMS races."
