Canada and Mexico will never get Cup races

NASCAR chairman and CEO Brian France said not to expect the Nextel Cup schedule to expand in the future or Cup dates awarded in Mexico City or Montreal.

"The Busch Series is working really well in those markets right now," France said. "The domestic schedule is at or near the end of where it needs to be." (In other words there is no room on the schedule for a Cup date in Mexico or Canada)

However, three locales on France's shortlist for Cup races are Seattle, Denver and New York City, but local opposition will probably nix those efforts. And if any one of those three were to come to fruition, another track will have to give up a date.
