Management changes at GM

General Motors Corp. made a handful of management changes on Monday to recognize two executives with global responsibilities — and reassign the duties of a retiring executive — as the automaker works to eliminate regional differences in its operations.

Bo Andersson and Jim Queen will become group vice presidents on April 1 "in recognition of their significant global responsibilities and major ongoing contributions to GM's progress," the company said. Both are currently vice presidents.

Andersson will continue to lead the global purchasing and supply chain organization, and Queen will remain the leader for global engineering. Both already serve on the Automotive Strategy Board, the 15-member panel led by Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner that makes the final decisions about which vehicles to manufacture.
