Newey hopes for Le Mans start
(GMM) Red Bull's chief technical officer Adrian Newey hopes to race in the fabled Le Mans 24 hour race later this year.
The designer of championship winning formula one cars, who is also an avid amateur racer, is aiming to share a Ferrari 430 GT2 with two other British drivers, despite the fact that the team has not yet secured a starting slot for the June race.
Newey tested the car at Monza recently and told Motorsport News: "We are looking at our options at the moment, but I want to do the race."
If he races, 48-year-old Newey would join F1 personalities including Jacques Villeneuve, Marc Gene and Johnny Herbert on the Le Mans grid.
