Teams extend rain affected test
(GMM) Formula one teams have decided to prolong the Sepang test for another day after heavy rain affected proceedings on Thursday.
Grey clouds and a drenched track greeted the ten teams at the venue near muggy Kuala Lumpur in the morning, and once it had dried a heavy afternoon downpour left drivers once again throwing up huge plumes of spray.
Only Toro Rosso will not test on Friday, while a hopeful BMW-Sauber statement said: "(Tomorrow's) weather forecast looks encouraging."
For the record, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton ended Thursday atop the time sheets despite a breakdown.
Nick Heidfeld offered the most spectacular moment of the day when smoke and oil trickled out of his BMW before it caught fire alongside reluctant marshals at the side of the track.
