Meeting fails to solve car sharing row

(GMM) Bernie Ecclestone hosted a team principals' meeting at Sakhir on Saturday morning but the 'car sharing' controversy is no closer to being solved.

The two-hour meeting at the venue for Sunday's Bahrain grand prix broke with Ecclestone, 76, apparently promising to devise a new compromise to present to the teams at a meeting prior to the Spanish GP mid next month.

"I do not know how near we are to a solution," Colin Kolles, whose Spyker team claims that the cars of near rivals Toro Rosso and Super Aguri are illegal copies, told reporters.

"But at least it's getting more and more obvious."

It is understood that Ecclestone's next proposal will clearly define and distinguish a 'constructor' from a mere 'entrant' and set out how their financial benefits should differ.

"It's very hard to get all these people to agree," Bernie said after the meeting at Sakhir.
