Another bad race for Montoya

Stock car rookie Juan Pablo Montoya didn't need the auto racing lesson that the O'Reilly 300 Busch race threw at him Saturday. A decade of racing at the highest levels of open wheel racing had already taught him that a few bad laps can ruin a great day of racing.

Montoya ran well for most of the 200-lap race and was running in the top five with 38 laps to go. But in the next 19 laps, he had a lug nut fall off, was penalized by NASCAR, brushed the wall and had a crash end his race.

The Colombian driver finished 30th and didn't run the last 21 laps.

"The car ran good, but it was tight for most of the race," Montoya said. "Then we made some adjustments and the car got all loose. Then things got worse, and it wasn't our fault." Dallas Morning News
