Radio LeMans adds another 24 hour race

Radio Show Limited, the rights holder for Radio Le Mans is adding the Nürburgring 24 Hour race to its portfolio of radio events. In addition to the French classic, RSL already provides personnel and broadcast expertise to the official radio services of the Britcar Silverstone 24 Hours and the American Le Mans Series.

“The calendar has been kind to endurance fans this year," explains John Hindhaugh. “Thankfully the Nürburgring 24 does not clash with Le Mans so we have an opportunity to present a feast of endurance racing in June."

This is the first time that an English Language station has broadcast from the event which regularly attracts more than 120 entries. Although primarily seen as a national German event it’s pressure from UK and USA-based listeners that has driven the new venture.

“There’s a massive interest for these big endurance races," confirmed Hindhaugh. “These events represent great value for private entrants. Look at the popularity of Britcar. Now we have the introduction of GT3 and GT4 specification cars, the racing has never been better."

The addition of the Nürburgring event means a hectic June for the Radio Le Mans Team. Their timetable includes;
Le Mans Test Weekend – June 2/3
Nurburgring 24 – June 8 – 10
Le Mans 24 – June 11 – 18

All the broadcasts will be available, free to air worldwide, via www.radiolemans.com and to the UK and Europe via satellite broadcast partner Globecast Radio on Sky channel 0157. As usual an FM transmitter will be relaying all the action to the area around the circuit at Le Mans.

Carl Landsbert is the Radio Show Limited Technical Director: “As last year the plan is to turn the transmitter on for test weekend and then leave it broadcasting right through until after the race."

The broadcast from Germany is being supported by Aston Martin who will have a big presence at the Nordschleife. “We have several customers competing in Germany with their Vantage N24s" said Sarah Durose of Aston Martin. “The radio station will mean that Aston Martin employees, customers, dealers and fans will be able to follow the progress of our cars in Germany."

Advertising and sponsorship packages are available on both the German and French services – contact info@radiolemans.com for details.
