Joe’s renews as Sponsor of the Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland

Mike Nealy, President of Global Events Group, announced today that Portland based Joe’s,- Sports, Outdoor and More has re-signed as presenting sponsor of the 2007 Champ Car Grand Prix of Portland to be staged at Portland International Raceway on June 8-10th. Joe’s has long been an integral part of not only the racing landscape of Portland but a multitude of other community events as well.

“To have Joe’s back as presenting sponsor is an honor for us," says Nealy. “Through the years their name has become synonymous with this race. They have proven to be a great race partner but more importantly they have been a great community partner wherever they serve. We are proud to have them in our event logo."

"We are excited to continue to be a major part of this great race, especially with the 100th anniversary of the Rose Festival" says Norm Daniels, President of Joe’s. “The race has become part of the summertime fabric for those in the Northwest and we have enjoyed being part of it. We have sort of grown together the last 24 years and now with a new name to reflect a new era for Joe’s we can’t think of a better way to show that new name off to our friends."

The 24th running of the Champ Car series, with a new television contract, promises renewed growth and attention to the series and to Portland, Oregon. This year’s race will be televised nationally on ABC with a 1PM Pacific Time green flag. The race will also be beamed into 170 International markets.

Joining the Champ Car’s for the Three Day festival of Speed will be the Atlantic Championship Series, Formula Drift, the Star Mazda Championships and The Globe of Death. The week also features Pit Stop Competitions, Street Parties and numerous other events.
