Allmendinger fails to qualify yet again

Qualifying is over for this weekend's Nextel Cup race in Phoenix with Jeff Gordon grabbing the pole position. Among those failing to qualify was AJ Allmendinger…..yet again…nor did his Red Bull teammate Brian Vickers. With their cars failing to qualify week in and week out Red Bull isn't getting much value (zero TV and fan exposure) for all that money they are spending in NASCAR. Other Toyota drivers like Dale Jarrett and team owner Michael Waltrip did not fare as well. Waltrip was 38th overall and failed to qualify for the sixth consecutive race, while Jarrett was 48th and had to use the fifth of six allowable former series champion's provisionals to make the 43-car field.
