Nothing broken on Figge
MRI results determined Alex Figge has a mid-thoracic compression, there are no fractures. Figge was involved in a late race incident at the Toyota Grand of Long Beach last weekend. Residual pain from the compression combined with the bumpy surface of the Houston racing circuit, resulted in Figge’s withdrawal at the Grand Prix of Houston this weekend. He will return to the cockpit for testing at Portland International Raceway in two weeks time. Pacific Coast Motorsports has three tests scheduled prior to the next race on the Champ Car schedule, the G.I. Joe’s Grand Prix of Portland, June 8-10.
Roberto “Pupo" Moreno has taken over the driving duties for Figge and the #29 Imperial Capital Bank Champ Car this weekend. The “Super Sub" is a consultant for PCM, working as a driver coach and engineering liaison. In addition, Moreno completed nearly 2500 miles developing the DP01 chassis prior to its official induction to the series.
