Toyota testing new suspension

Like several of their rivals the Panasonic Toyota Racing team are working hard to ensure they have the best possible package ready in time for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix and as part of their preparations, third driver Franck Montagny spent two days in Italy straight line testing.

“I think that we are getting better and it is going well, but there is still a lot of work in prospect. While returning from Bahrain, I headed over to Italy for two days of aero testing," he said on his official website. “It is necessary to continue to collect more data, a big part of off track work. I spent two days stabilizing speed: 200, 240, 280, 300, 320."

During the test, the Frenchman tried out various wing values as well as other new parts for the car, however, as these tests were done in a straight line they need to be corroborated with work on a normal circuit. Therefore, it was time to head to Vallelunga where they were busy checking new suspension.

“We have a new solution, which should be very effective, but there are still many questions and therefore we are not yet ready to use it in race conditions," Montagny explained.
