Gommendy only driver to test Wednesday

Tristan Gommendy (#22 Pay By Touch-MegaSpiera Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone) was the only driver to brave the rainy weather at Portland International Raceway, running about 30 laps in the wet conditions.

"Even though it was raining it was good to drive today and get a feel for the DP01 in the rain," said Gommendy. "It was very important to us a PKV Racing to run in these conditions, because what if it rains in the race? The track condition was consistent which was good for us because we were able to make changes and improve the car. During my last run the car was good for the conditions and not to difficult to drive."

The rookie, Gommendy earned a fifth place finish in his Champ Car debut at Las Vegas and led late in the race in both Long Beach and Houston using an alternate fuel strategy.

Testing continues at Portland International Raceway tomorrow in preparation for the race June 8-10. Champ Car
