Honda planning all-star tech revamp – report

(GMM) Honda may be planning an all-star technical lineup to dig itself out of the mire of its 2007 championship campaign, according to reports.

It emerged on Tuesday that former Red Bull chief aerodynamicist Ben Agathangelou is shaping up to join the Brackley based Honda team, after it hit rock-bottom this season with the dreadful RA107 car.

The unconfirmed signing follows speculation that team boss Nick Fry had opened talks with Ross Brawn, who is taking a 'sabbatical' after a successful era as Ferrari's technical director and strategist.

But the specialist magazine Motorsport Aktuell now claims that the highly-ranked duo is just part of a wider revamp at the Japanese marque, with Fry believed to be looking elsewhere within the Ferrari camp for more technical talent.

Nigel Stepney is reportedly unhappy with his current Ferrari role, which has left him mostly factory-based in 2007, and he could be one of Fry's targets after apparently recently being spotted in the UK.

It was also rumored recently that Ferrari's John Iley was on the verge of leaving the Italian team, while former Minardi technical director Gabriele Tredozi could be on the lookout for a new role in the F1 paddock, the report added.
