Monaco Practice 2: Alonso stays fast, Ferrari closes

(GMM) Hot on the heels of Giancarlo Fisichella, David Coulthard, Lewis Hamilton and Adrian Sutil, Toyota's Ralf Schumacher also crashed on Thursday while practicing for the Monaco grand prix.

In the closing minutes of the afternoon session, the 31-year-old German struck the barriers on the exit of the high speed Swimming Pool chicane, while trying to improve on pace good enough for only the 20th quickest time.

True to his morning form, McLaren's Fernando Alonso topped the session-two time sheets, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen in the Ferrari. Jarno Trulli was an impressive fourth in the second Toyota.
