Milwaukee IRL race looking for answers
Criticism of the Milwaukee IRL weekend schedule has come from all corners, some of it justified and some curious.
Saturday was jam-packed with on-track action, and then Sunday featured a 9:30 a.m. autograph session and a 3 p.m. race with interactive midway displays and shopping to fill the gap. A number of people suggested that attendance could have been helped by the addition of midgets and sprint cars to the program or the move of the Indy Pro Series race to Sunday.
OK, either United States Auto Club division might have been a bonus for those who did turn out, but neither has been a draw to the Mile in the recent past. And a few more people actually would have watched a Pro Series race in the midday Sunday, but that move wouldn't have affected the bottom line, either. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
