Paul Tracy has day he would rather forget
Champ Car driver Paul Tracy’s day began with a crash during morning warm up which forced the #3 INDECK crew to prepare their backup car since their primary was damaged beyond repair. Per Champ Car rules the car changed meant that Tracy would have to start from the back of the field. The Canadian managed to pick up positions on the start but contact with Will Power sent him to the back of the grid again. His day ended early as he encountered engine problems and was forced to retire.
“Well I guess when it rains it pours. Everything went wrong for us today, in the morning warm up I went off in Turn 10 and hit the wall pretty hard, the car had quite a lot of damage so we had to switch to our backup car. Since we switched cars we were forced to start at the back and we managed to pick up a few positions on the start but then I was spun out by Will Power and dropped to the back again. We were coming up to a restart and as I was coming up the hill I got on the gas and the engine just let go. We just have to put this weekend behind us and move on to my home race in Toronto, I’m really looking forward to turning things around there in front of the Canadian fans."
