Adam Carroll takes home win at Silverstone
Petrol Ofisi FMS International today celebrated its first victory of the 2007 season after a stunning drive by Adam Carroll at Silverstone. The 24-year-old began from third on the grid and was up to second after the first corner. He was on the tail of Pastor Maldonado for the first half of the race, with less than a second separating the two. He then made his move with eight laps to go, overtaking Maldonado on the outside to take the lead. He quickly pulled out a gap, taking the checkered flag in front of his delighted Italian team. Adam's team-mate Jason Tahinci had a solid race, moving up from his 19th starting position to finish in 16th place.
Adam Carroll: "It's fantastic to win again, it's been so long and I've had such a hard time that I'm just so thankful to the people that never lost faith in me. I'm nearly crying to tell the truth! Hopefully this is just the start of things. We've shown what we can do together as a team and the team did a cracking job this weekend. With the right opportunity, I can run with the best, we've shown that today. It's absolutely fantastic to win in front of the British crowd and to be on top of the podium. Lewis Hamilton was in this same spot this time last year, and this year he's on pole for the F1, so it's something to be proud of."
