Carl Edwards in dirt track wreck

Carl Edwards, involved in a crash in a dirt late model race Sunday night at I-80 Speedway in Nebraska, is not testing today at the Milwaukee Mile and will not test a Busch Series car Tuesday at Bristol Motor Speedway but likely will race this weekend in the Busch and Nextel Cup events in Indianapolis.

The Roush Fenway Racing driver was having his right hand examined today by a specialist in Columbia, Mo., to determine if there were any injuries, according to the team.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, Edwards hit the back of a car that had spun out and then hit the wall. He went to the hospital with an ice pack on his right hand. Word is he broke his thumb.
