Heavy Busch cars tearing up Montreal surface

Track press officer Normand Prieur said Friday that NASCAR was concerned about the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve surface nearly coming apart in the hairpin in turns 10 and 11 where recent work had been done. Water from a brief morning rain shower on the hot track created the situation, but after a little work, the track was determined ready for the rest of the day. The 80-minute Busch Series practice was shortened to 75 minutes.
