Rain washes out NASCAR Nextel Cup qualifying

UPDATE A reader points out, Dear AutoRacing1, NASCAR drivers are the greatest in the world! What, they can't go out in the rain, on a road course, with wet weather tires? 08/10/07 Friday afternoon's NASCAR Nextel Cup Series qualifying session at Watkins Glen International was cancelled due to inclement weather. As a result of leading the point standings, Jeff Gordon will start from the pole Sunday in the Centurion Boats at The Glen.
