It’s raining at MIS
08/19/07 A slight break in the weather around 1:00 PM encouraged NASCAR to fire up the jet dryer. However, the rain pattern is closing in again, and a light rain has resumed. Since it talks at least 2 hours to dry MIS on a good day, expect the race to start no earlier than 3:00 PM.

08/19/07 After a full night of rain, the scuttlebutt at Michigan is that the race will be postponed at the driver's meeting. An update regarding the race will be made between NASCAR and speedway officials shortly after 12 p.m. The rain is scheduled to continue well into Monday, raising the possibility of a Tuesday race. However, the crews need to leave Michigan by 4:00 PM on Tuesday in order to get to Bristol for the start of action on Wednesday.
Should the race not happen today, the unofficial backup plans are:
Plan A– Monday morning, August 20
Plan B– Tuesday morning, August 21
Plan C– Monday morning, August 27 Tim Wohlford reporting
08/18/07 Another race, another day of rain. If you have a drought, schedule a major motor sports event! Just when Michigan racing fans had their shoes dried out from the IRL race two weeks ago, we see a large mass of rain move through for this weekend.
Currently (9:20 pm EDT Saturday night), it is raining at Michigan International Speedway. Looking at the radar, the rain stretches all the way back over lake Michigan, over Wisconsin and Minnesota, into South Dakota.
The weather calls for "Definite Rain Showers" until after the scheduled start time. After that time, there is a "chance," of showers until a return to "definite" around dark.
There is a 60% chance of rain on Monday.
