Tracy much happier now

While he hurt his effort by crashing in the morning practice session, Paul Tracy is much happier since engineer Tom Brown moved over from PKV Racing. He and the team have been struggling all season, although they did manage to pull off a win in Cleveland earlier this year. He thinks he has a car he can work with on Sunday.

“That was a frustrating qualifying session. We made a really good call going out early for the first stint and we had clear track and managed to put in a quick lap. During that lap I lost some time in a couple of spots so I knew that we could still go a few tenths quicker on our second stint. We went out with a few minutes with traffic all around us, (Tristan) Gommendy was in front of me and I kept catching him every time I tried to go fast and just couldn’t put a lap together. Our car is good, we are close, we still need to do some work but it’s nice to know that we are in the ballpark.

"Tom Brown has come in and made little changes on the cambers and casters, wing angles and the like and now the car is like night and day to drive. It's the first time this year I feel comfortable enough in the car to really drive it. Before it was just undriveable," said Tracy. Mark C.
