Muller back at Mosport

Needless to say, Dirk Muller feels at home at Mosport International Raceway. In three American Le Mans Series start, he has a victory, a runner-up and a pole position start in the GT class (now GT2). He is back at the famed Canadian venue for the first time since 2001 and Petersen Motorsports/White Lightning Racing and Ferrari.

“It’s more or less the same," Muller said. “Due to the rough winters they have here, the track is a little cracked in some places. They have patched it up in some places with concrete and that makes the track very challenging."

Muller holds one of the longest-standing records in the American Le Mans Series with eight consecutive pole positions in a Porsche. The string started at Sears Point in 1999 and carried through Silverstone in 2000. He also holds the record for most GT poles in a season (6 in 1999) and in a career (13).

Muller already has posted three fastest GT2 race laps for Petersen/White Lightning and the Ferrari.

“It was a very good year and I was really at home," Muller said of 1999. “This year, one of the goals is to be back on pole positions and I’ve been very close so far. I’d like to get one but to get that many in a row is very, very tough. I’m very happy on this track and so happy to be back here."
