FIA reveals spy hearing transcripts

(GMM) The more studious sections of the formula one world on Wednesday are grappling with nearly 200 pages of 'spy saga' transcripts.

The full documents, outlining every word uttered in the July and September World Motor Sport Council hearings, were released on Wednesday by the FIA; but – according to one source – an initial error meant that confidential sections, that had been requested removed by McLaren and Ferrari, could easily be exposed.

Another of the initial revelations of the Paris hearings is that McLaren boss Ron Dennis and Fernando Alonso were as of last Thursday "not on speaking terms".

"We have not had any conversations since that point," said the Briton, referring to an argument with reigning world champion Alonso before the Hungarian grand prix that ultimately led to the disclosure of incriminating emails between himself and test driver Pedro de la Rosa.

"The relationship between Fernando and myself is extremely cold. That is an understatement," Dennis added.

Dennis also said McLaren asked Alonso to attend the hearing but the Spaniard turned down the request. Lewis Hamilton did make the trip to Paris, but was dismissed as a witness when it became clear that neither side's lawyers wanted to question the British rookie.

"He does not speak to anyone much," Dennis explained, referring again to Alonso.

"He is a remarkable recluse for a driver."
