Joel Miller Champ Car Atlantic Test
This would be Miller's first time in a car of this caliber. After showing his capabilities in the morning sessions, the team decided to put new tires on the car for the afternoon. With the new slicks up to temperature, Miller was able to drop his times by a whole second despite the extreme heat in the afternoon. "The amount of grip and braking capabilities the car had was unbelievable! Before the test I only heard from other drivers about the characteristics of the car, but experiencing them for yourself gives a whole different perspective. I can definitely see myself racing for the championship in years to come," quotes Miller after the test.
During the day, different exercises were performed to prepare Miller for future tests. Learning the full braking capacity of the car, different set up changes, and simulated qualifying runs all contributed to the full day of testing. "I would like to thank Shane and all the people at USRacetronics for making the day possible," stated Miller. He also would like to thank Doug Mockett, Tyler Tadevic, Jeremy Shaw, and all the supporters of the Team USA Scholarship. Without their help in the program none of this would have been possible. Miller's next event will be the final race weekend of the Skip Barber National Series in which Miller looks to clinch the championship after an impressive year.
