Crown Prince vows funds for F1
He will contribute £20,000 (BD15,200) a year to the London-based Grand Prix Mechanics Charitable Trust for the next five years.
The donation was announced by the trust's chairman and three-times Formula One world champion Jackie Stewart at its 20th anniversary celebrations, which took place in Brooklands, a disused motor circuit and airfield near Weybridge, Surrey.
The trust was created in February 1987 bringing together more than 160 former mechanics, including some from the 1950s, with the aim of supporting current and former Grand Prix mechanics in times of need.
Mr. Stewart, in an interview with ITV-F1.com, described the Crown Prince's donation as "a very nice gesture coming from a man who is responsible for creating the grand prix circuit in Bahrain and, therefore, the first in the Middle East."
