Tost alerted FIA to new Hamilton evidence
Franz Tost has revealed that he alerted the FIA to the new evidence of Lewis Hamilton's driving behind the Safety Car at Fuji. Scuderia Toro Rosso team principal contacted the race stewards after seeing a YouTube video of the incident that saw STR's Sebastian Vettel ram into Mark Webber. This resulted in both drivers' retirement, but the video clip shows Hamilton slowing down on the right-side of the circuit which caused the incident. Tost told Autosport that he believes Hamilton was at fault: "You could see quite clearly that Hamilton slows down quite unexpectedly."
"Look at the video. Sebastian would have had to have gone between the cars (Webber and Hamilton) and there was no chance. It was totally unexpected. It looked like Hamilton was stopping, that is why I went to the stewards." Tost was quick to point out that the reason for him visiting the stewards was to protest Vettel's 10-place penalty, rather than to get Hamilton into hot water. "If anything I want to see Vettel's grid penalty taken away because it is totally unfair," he said. Planet F1
